Page six <br /> r <br /> finished well depth, screen locations, screen size and gravel pack <br /> gradation. <br /> ITEM NO. 12 <br /> The first paragraph under item Y"of"SUBMITTALS"described in DIVISION <br /> 111, Section 9 - "LEWIS MANOR WATER WELL AND NESTED MONITORING <br /> WELL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION'; shown on page 14 is hereby <br /> amended to read: <br /> I. Nested Monitoring Well Design: Upon completion of the pilot hole and with <br /> the results of the Contractor's sand analyses and electric logs available, the <br /> Contractor shall jointly, with the Engineer, confirm the design of the well. A <br /> detailed sketch of the proposed construction shall be made by the Contractor <br /> and approved by the Engineer will be noted thereon. This sketch shall show <br /> all details of the proposed well construction: <br /> ITEM NO. 13 <br /> The items "C'; "D'; "E", and "F"of "CASING AND SCREEN"described in <br /> DIVISION 111, Section 9 - "LEWIS MANOR WATER WELL AND NESTED <br /> MONITORING WELL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION", shown on page 16 <br /> are hereby amended to read: <br /> C. Production Casing: Production casing shall be new Type 304 stainless steel <br /> pipe conforming to ASTM Designation A778, except that requirements for <br /> hydrostatic testing will be waived. Well casing shall have an inside diameter <br /> of 18 inches with not less than 3/8-inch wall thickness. <br /> D. Production Well Screen: Production Well screen may be either wire wrapped <br /> well screen or louvered well screen as specified below. <br /> 1. Wire Wrap Production Well screen shall be Type 304 stainless steel <br /> screen and shall be factory fabricated by all-weld construction. Casing shall <br /> be nominal 18-inch diameter with minimum 0.280-inch vertical rods. Weld <br /> rings to accommodate the specified casing shall be approved by the <br /> Engineer and shall be provided on the screens. The wire'Wrap we11 screen <br /> shall be of the wire-wound type with continuous slots as manufactured by <br /> U.S. Filter/Johnson Screens, Roscoe Moss Company, Houston, or equal. <br /> a) Screen aperture size and screen location shall be determined <br /> based on results of the pilot hole testing, and confirmed by the Contractor <br /> and Engineer. <br /> b) Welding rod used for joining the screen ends to the casing ends <br /> shall be furnished by the Contractor and shall be specifically suitable for <br /> joining the materials and creating a watertight weld. <br /> 2. Louvered Production Well screen shall be Type 304 stainless steel, <br /> manufactured in accordance with ASTM A409. Casing shall be nominal 18_; <br /> inch diameter with a 5/16-inch wall thickness._ Openings shall be machine <br />
