Quarterly Monitoring Report- Fourth Quarter 2014 Page 3
' OAK RIDGE WINERY
WKA No. 6364.07
December 18, 2014
(GPS)observations using University of California Bay Area Deformation CORS station
observation files referenced on the California Spatial Reference Center Datum, Epoch 2000.35.
' The vertical datum used for elevation determination is NAVD88 from GPS observations.
' 4.1 Groundwater Monitoring
On December 9, 2014, groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted at the Winery.
' Monitoring consisted of measuring DTW in each well using an electronic sounder with a tape
graduated in 1/100th of a foot. DTW was recorded in each monitoring well from the top-of-
casing (north side). Groundwater equipotential contours, calculated groundwater elevations in
' monitoring wells, and apparent direction of groundwater flow on the date of monitoring, are
illustrated in Figure 3. Table 2 includes DTW and calculated groundwater elevations obtained
from this monitoring event as well as historical DTW and groundwater elevations.
4.2 Groundwater Sampling
' WKA field personnel collected groundwater samples from each of the four monitoring wells on
P 9 p 9
' December 9, 2014. Each well was purged of approximately three well casing volumes, during
which time observations of water turbidity and measurements of temperature, pH, and
conductivity were recorded. Each well was purged using an electric submersible pump
' connected to dedicated low-density polyethylene (LDPE) tubing. Groundwater samples were
collected after the monitoring wells were purged.
' Groundwater samples were collected from the purge pump discharge into laboratory-preserved,
analyte-specific sampling containers provided by the analytical laboratory, preserved on ice in
' an ice chest, and submitted under chain-of-custody documentation to California Laboratory
Services, Inc. (CLS) of Rancho Cordova, California (California, State Water Resources Control
' Board, Division of Drinking Water certified laboratory)for analysis of the following parameters:
• Nitrate as nitrogen using EPA method 300.0;
' 0 Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) using method SM2540C;
• pH using method SM4500-HB;
' 0 Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) using method SM4500-NH3C;
• Potassium using EPA method 200.7;
' 0 Ammonia as nitrogen using method SM4500-NC3C.d;
