Some of the wastewater treatment and disposal facilities are also used by California Fruit Processors, LLC. In general, the winery was clean and well maintains. Wastewater and stormwater are piped to the same sump for disposal either in an evaporation/percoiation pond or as irrigation water in the vineyards or cherry orchards. At the time of the inspection, the vineyards had recently been disced and all wastewater was being discharged to the evaporation/percolation pond. A site inspection photograph log is enclosed with this letter. The following observations were made during the site inspection: • All the stormwater which falls on land covered with buildings or pavement is directed into stormwater drains which pipe the water to the treatment system. • Winery crush wash water, tank cleaning water, and floor washing water is directed into drains which pipe the water to a two stage graviry clarifier. A pump located in the second stage of the clarifier pumps the wastewater to the treamlent system. Solids removed in the clarifier are placed in the trash. • Winery defrost water is piped into the wastewater conveyance piping downstream of the two- stage clarifier. • Bottling does not presently occur at the facility. Bottling is expected to begin at the site in the future, and a bottling machine was observed during the inspection. • Three domestic wastewater septic systems exist at the site. The systems exist at the winery, the winery office, and at California Fruit Processors (CFP). • Six storage pits exist north of the CFP building. The storage pits were previously used to store fruit in a brine solution prior to processing. Presently, the brine is stored in above-ground tanks and the pits are no longer used. • CFP's daily process wastewater is discharged to a three stage clarifier prior to flowing to the treatment system. • Wastewater flows to a treatment area sump where it is screened prior being pumped into the fields as reclaimed water or discharged to the evaporation/percolation pond.
