1 3.7 Wellhead Surveying Ile On August 12, 2003,the elevations of the new monitoring wells were surveyed b Hunter ' � g Y Y Surveying of Orangevale, California to the nearest 0 01 foot and referenced to an established benchmark The resultant data will be used in the calculation of groundwater flow and gradient A copy of the field survey is included in Appendix D 3.8 Well Development On July 21, 2003, groundwater monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 were developed by bailing and surging at least 10 well casing volumes or until the well was dry, and until groundwater parameters, pH, specific conductivity, and temperature had stabilized Well development water was removed from the SBC facility and transported to Shaw's facility in Sacramento, California for storage pending off-site disposal Copies of the well development field logs are presented in Appendix E 4.0 Quarterly Activities rThe monitoring well purging and sampling methods were performed in general accordance with RWQCB and SJCEHD guidelines The new monitoring wells were measured and sampled on 10 July 21, 2003 4.1 Water Level Measurements Water level depths were measured in wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 using an interface probe Depth to water measurements were referenced to designated measuring points at the top of each well casing 1 4.2 Monitoring Well Sampling Following well development, groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 The groundwater samples were collected using new single-use,polyethylene bailers The water samples were transferred from the bailer into four 40-m1 VOA sample ' containers and a one-liter amber bottle supplied by the analytical laboratory Following collection, the sample containers were labeled, placed in a cooler with ice, and transported to the ' laboratory under chain of custody protocol The chain of custody record is included in Appendix C CNCD/08 11-03/0 SHARE/UST/03-0096 doc 5
