1 <br /> 3.7 Wellhead Surveying <br /> Ile <br /> On August 12, 2003,the elevations of the new monitoring wells were surveyed b Hunter <br />' � g Y Y <br /> Surveying of Orangevale, California to the nearest 0 01 foot and referenced to an established <br /> benchmark The resultant data will be used in the calculation of groundwater flow and gradient <br /> A copy of the field survey is included in Appendix D <br /> 3.8 Well Development <br /> On July 21, 2003, groundwater monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 were developed by <br /> bailing and surging at least 10 well casing volumes or until the well was dry, and until <br /> groundwater parameters, pH, specific conductivity, and temperature had stabilized Well <br /> development water was removed from the SBC facility and transported to Shaw's facility in <br /> Sacramento, California for storage pending off-site disposal Copies of the well development <br /> field logs are presented in Appendix E <br /> 4.0 Quarterly Activities <br /> rThe monitoring well purging and sampling methods were performed in general accordance with <br /> RWQCB and SJCEHD guidelines The new monitoring wells were measured and sampled on <br /> 10 July 21, 2003 <br /> 4.1 Water Level Measurements <br /> Water level depths were measured in wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 using an interface probe <br /> Depth to water measurements were referenced to designated measuring points at the top of each <br /> well casing <br /> 1 4.2 Monitoring Well Sampling <br /> Following well development, groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1, <br /> MW-2, and MW-3 The groundwater samples were collected using new single-use,polyethylene <br /> bailers The water samples were transferred from the bailer into four 40-m1 VOA sample <br />' containers and a one-liter amber bottle supplied by the analytical laboratory Following <br /> collection, the sample containers were labeled, placed in a cooler with ice, and transported to the <br />' laboratory under chain of custody protocol The chain of custody record is included in <br /> Appendix C <br /> CNCD/08 11-03/0 SHARE/UST/03-0096 doc 5 <br />
