Sanborn Fire Insurance reaps were obtained for the years 1921, 1926, 1945, and 1947 by <br /> Environmental Data Resources, Inc (EDR) for Shaw in order to evaluate historical site and <br /> surrounding usage There are two pages of maps for each year No coverage to the north of the <br /> site was located by EDR <br /> The 1921 map shows the site as undeveloped Holly Street was called Center Street, with 12`h <br />' Street not shown The property to the south (presently occupied by Biondi Brothers Furniture) <br /> was occupied by West Side Garage & Repair and a small restaurant Further to the south, across <br /> tI V' Street, was a gas and oil station To the west were residential properties, with a gasoline <br /> station further to the southwest of the site, across Center Street(now Holly Street) <br /> The 1926 ma also shows the e site as undeveloped To the south of the site is an unidentified <br /> building followed by the building that had (in 1921) housed West Side Garage (the name on the <br /> Sanborn map is illegible) and a restaurant To the south-southwest of the site was a gas and oil <br />' station Additional gas and oil stations were located to the southwest, at the intersection of <br /> Adam Street and West I V' Street, and to the southeast, at the intersection of North E Street and <br /> East I It' Street <br /> On the 1945 and 1947 maps, an apartment complex is shown occupying the eastern portion of <br /> tthe site East 12`1 Street and the residence located at 20 East 12"' Street are shown in the same <br /> general configuration as found presently To the south of the site were automotive repair garage <br /> and painting facilities, and a gas and oil station To the southeast, across Ofcee Avenue <br /> (presently El Portal Avenue) was another gas and oil station Two gas and oil stations were <br /> located to the southwest, at the intersection of Adam Street and West I 1"' Street Copies of the <br /> Sanborn maps are included in Appendix C <br />' Aerial photographs of the site were obtained by EDR from the years 1957, 1972, 1982, and 1994 <br />' In the 1957 photograph, a building in the same general configuration as that found on the SBC <br /> property until September 2002 is located on the west side of the site The eastern portion of the <br /> site is occupied by two small structures A larger building is shown on the eastern portion of the <br />' site in the 1972 photograph The 1982 and 1994 photographs shows the site in the same general <br /> CNCD104-28-031SHARE\UST103-0427 doc 2 <br />
