CAMBRIA
(Appendix A) indicates that the storm drain in this area is 54 inches in diameter If one
assumes that the storm drain is buried at least 24 inches below grade, the bottom of the utility
trench is approximately 6 5 feet below grade The storm drain is most likely the deepest
utility in this area
Additionally, onsite trenching for a potential remediation system was performed A portion
of the trench intersects the water table It is unlikely that the onsite trenches are impacting
the migration of contaminants from this site, since the trenches do not continue offsite
Surface Water Bodies The United States Geological Survey 7 5 minute quadrangle map for
Union Island, California was reviewed to identify surface water bodies within the survey area
No surface water bodies were identified within a 500-foot radius of the site A field visit was
conducted on March 16, 1998 A small pond was observed approximately 500 feet northeast
of the site on Larch Road, behind the hotel parking lot Areas of standing water were located
approximately 300 to 500 feet west of the site
Water Well Survey DWR records were reviewed to determine the location of water wells
. within the 2,000-foot radius of the subject site A total of 10 wells were identified within the
2,000-foot radius of the survey Table 1 presents information about the wells and the water
well drillers reports are presented in Appendix B The approximate locations of the wells are
depicted on figure 2 The nearest well to the subject site is a domestic well located at the
Chevron station at 3775 Tracy Boulevard This well is reported to be 136 feet total depth
with perforation from 123 to 131 feet below grade The well was installed in March 1972,
and may or may not be in use today The next closest well is located at 10631 Larch Road,
approximately 700 feet northwest of the site
Owing to the amount of development in this part of Tracy, it is possible that there are other
wells in the vicinity that were not identified through this survey
Conclusions
The maximum depth of the utility trenches in this area is estimated to be about 6 5 feet
below grade(fbg)
Two surface water bodies were identified within the surveyed area The standing water on the
west of the site is likely a result of storm events The construction details and use of the
• small pond located to the northeast of the site are unknown
241-0813 2
