NAMEPLATE CORPORATION
1
October 14, 1993 O j
Derrick J. Adachi OGT 1 81993
CAL-EPA
DTSC Region 1 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
10151 Croydon Way, Suite 3 PERMIT/SERVICES
Sacramento CA 95827-2106
RE : Proposed Remedial Action Plan
Dear Mr. Adachi :
Please find enclosed for your information a copy of the proposed
remedial action plan requesting closure of the concrete bunker from
the Environmental Health Division of San Joaquin County.
It is proposed that soil with hydrocarbons be removed from the
North side and east side, where feasible, of the bunker to a depth
of approximately 15 - 20 feet.
Soil to the South and to the West is located underneath the
Lustre-Cal building. Data from soil underneath the bunker indicate
no contamination. This soil underneath the bunker and building
would not be removed and should not present a danger to human
health nor the environment.
It is proposed that soil removed from around the bunker be
remediated on site .
Lustre-Cal and Ackel Properties request confirmation that the
removed soil will not be considered RCRA material nor RCRA waste,
assuming concentrations of constituents are not greater than those
found previously.
If you need to contact me or have any questions, I can be reached
at-1936--334-6263 .
2"7
Sincerely
Rod Hunter
Corporate Chemical Engineer
Lustre-Cal Nameplate
c: San Joaquin County EHD
c: WZI Inc.
c : Ackel Properties
Enclosure
"OIIP IITV IGEN TIFICA TION YOII CNN OEVENO ON"
LOO. _ HE/+L O30UPO
