Lancaster , Chief
Sacramento Facility Compliance Unit
Surveillance and Enforcement Branch
Region 1 Cal-EPA DTSC
10151 Croydon Way, Suite 3
Sacramento, CA 95827
SUBJECT: SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS REPORT SUBMITTAL
Dear Ms . Lancaster:
Please find enclosed a copy of the results of our investigation.
A copy is also being sent to San Joaquin County' s Department of
Environmental Health.
It appears that through Lustre-Calls use of the tank and improper
placement of constituents on nearby soils the impacts to the soil,
if any, are insignificant.
Since the results of the thorough investigation of Areas "A" , "B" ,
"C" , and "D" indicate insignificant soil impaction, please send us
a letter indicating no further action is required in these areas.
In some soil directly adjacent to the tank viscous hydrocarbons t
were found . We believe these hydrocarbons or bunker oil were found I
in sufficient quantities to necessitate remediation. It is our
understanding that heating oil was used to fire the winery's
distillery. Apparently some oil was released into the soil near
the tank .
Lustre-Cal is anxious to see the closure of the concrete tank . It
!!! is our hope that closure requirements including remediation can be
addressed in a timely fashion.
Sincerely
ca
Rod Hunter
Corp. Chem.
