W-VZO
INC
7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
WZI Inc concludes the following
(1) Hydrocarbon impacted soil is present immediately around the Concrete Tank area
to a distance of about 5 feet from the tank This soil exceeds CRWQCB hydrocarbon j
concentrations allowing impacted sal to be left in place without a Health Risk
Assessment A Health Rask Assessment will most likely recommend remedial action to
remove and/or remediate this soil
(2) Ground water beneath the LCN site is approximately 40 feet below the identified
base of hydrocarbon impacted sal It is unlikely that local ground water has been
impacted by hydrocarbon compounds released from the Concrete Tank area
(3) Chlorinated hydrocarbons are present in the subsurface adjacent to the Concrete
• Tank area at levels that exceed recommended Primary MCL's for ground water
established by the CRWQCB at a minimum distance of 10 to 15 feet above the ground
water table
(4) Area A has been evaluated for hydrocarbon sod impact No hydrocarbon
compounds, except those identified as asphalt, are present in the subsurface No further
site assessment is warranted for this area
(5) Area D has been evaluated for both hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon
compounds Hydrocarbon impacted soil is identified as being 10 feet below ground
surface or shallower and is estimated at being approximately 30 cubic yards
Concentrations of identified hydrocarbons are below 100 ppm and do not represent a
threat to local ground water Chlorinated hydrocarbon compounds are present in the
subsurface to a depth of approximately B 5 feet Total impacted soil volume from
chlorinated hydrocarbons is estimated to be approximately 5 cubic yards or less Vertical
iextent of chlorinated hydrocarbon impacted soil is unknown but is suspected as being
12270010 013 Page 25
