The amount of shortage (519 gallons) makes it
unlikely that a van or pickup would have a tank
(or barrels) capacity to hold that amount .
2-10-89 1150 HOURS -- Contacted Jerry Troxell at the Stockton
terminal and advised him of the circumstances . (The information
was submitted to the Stockton terminal as all responsible Arco
personnel were attending the company conference in Hawaii . ) The
message was delivered to Calzona Truck Lines.
2-10-89 1250 HOURS -- Returned call to Herry Crowfoot , Calzona
Truck Lines , Richmond , California . I agreed with Crowfoot that
tanks , metered sales and deliveries would be carefully monitored
until Monday, February 13, 1989 when the manager of Calzona Truck
Lines , Ron Gilliland , would return.
2-13-89 1405 HOURS -- I was instructed by Troxell , Stockton terminal ,
to submit a claim through Arco sales representative.
2-13-89 1410 HOURS -- Called Calzona Truck Lines and was advised
that Mr . Gilliland would contact the undersigned in Lathrop on
Friday, February 17 , 1989.
I hereby request an early resolution of this matter in order to
avoid unnecessary inspection by the Health Department and other
related agencies . This will certainly result when the quarterly
reconciliation report is submitted to the local Health Department .
Sincerely,
John J. Serpa,
Owner Serpa ' s A.M./P.M. Mini Market
PS The attached reconciliation report is compiled on net gallons
because information indicates that drivers and transportation
companies are reluctant to resolve such matters on as gross
gallon formula .
