i
s Ms. Carol Oz
SJC PHS/EHD
April 28, 2000
Page 2
5. A neat cement mixture shall be composed of one 94-pound bag of Portland cement to each
seven gallons of clean water.
6. A specially constructed cap with a discharge port is glued to each well. See enclosed detailed
diagram. As cement is pumped into the well, the displaced water will rise out the well cap to
the-surface. When cement begins to appear at the surface, the port will be sealed and cement
will continue to be pumped into the well until refusal. A minimum of 25psi will be maintained
at the cement-pump for a minimum-of 5 minutes, prior to moving to a different well. Upon
completion of the pressure grouting,-the top section of the well casing will be dug out and
additional cement will be added to bring the level flush with surface grade. The surface of the
worksite is currently a dirt-graveled parking lot. The finish will match existing surface
conditions.' The site will be inspected the next day to ensure no settling occurs.
In closing, the Port requests your review and approval of this plan. As usual, we would
like to thank you for your continued spirit of partnering and cooperation.
