Weber Street, Third Floor Date by <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject: Workplan for Soil and Groundwater Investigation at City of Stockton Royal Oaks <br /> Pump Station, Royal Park Lane and Princess Drive, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms. Oz: <br /> ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this workplan, on behalf of the City of Stockton, for the <br /> performance of soil and groundwater investigation activities at the above referenced site. The <br /> purpose of the soil and groundwater investigation is to evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of <br /> petroleum impacted soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the former underground storage tank <br /> (UST), if any. This work being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD). <br /> The scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil borings and collecting soil <br /> samples, laboratory analysis of selected soil samples, and preparing a summary report. If field <br /> observations warrant, it may be necessary to complete up to three of the borings as groundwater <br /> monitoring wells. A potential additional scope of work would include installing up to three <br /> groundwater monitoring wells in the borings, developing the wells, collecting groundwater <br /> samples, and laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater samples. The scope of work is <br /> described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the south side of Princess Drive and the west side of Royal Park Lane in <br /> Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is primarily a residential area. The site <br /> is currently occupied by the Royal Oaks Pump Station. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> One 1,500-gallon diesel UST and all associated piping and dispensing equipment were removed <br /> and transported off-site on May 20, 1994.
