M. Scgtt Mansholt -2 - • 5 June 2009
-Chevron—Alden Park
Annual 2009 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Floating product thickness ranged from approximately 6 to 11 feet with approximately
170 gallons removed during 2008 and 41 gallons removed the first quarter of 2009.
Since product removal was initiated in April 1997, approximately 764 gallons have been
removed.
SAIC recommended:
• Continue annual groundwater monitoring and sampling of the wells that do not contain
floating petroleum product.
• Reduce the adsorbent sock inspection frequency of wells MW-5 and MW-21 from
quarterly to semiannually.
• Decrease the floating petroleum product removal frequency for wells containing free
petroleum product present from quarterly to semiannually.
Central Valley Water Board staff has the following comments:
• Annual groundwater monitoring and sampling of all monitoring wells should continue in
accordance with MRP R5-2006-0812.
• Inspection and/or replacement of the petroleum adsorbent socks in MW-5 and 21 can
be reduced to semiannually.
Measurement and removal of floating petroleum product should continue on a quarterly
basis.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
SHELTON R.
