The report, dated 10 May
2006, was submitted by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) on behalf of
Chevron.
The four monitoring wells (MW-1/KJC, MW-2, MW-13 and MW-17) located at Chevron's Alden
Park project site were destroyed in accordance with the workplan approved by Regional Board
staff on 31 January 2006. Prior to initiating field activities, a well destruction permit was
obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health (SJCEHD).
Based on our review, we have the following comments:
The total depth of each 4-inch PVC wells was measured and verified;
A representative from the County Health Department observed and approved the well
destruction activities;
Tremmie pipe was installed in each well, the PVC pipe removed, and cement slurry was
pumped into each well from the bottom to the surface;
The streets and sidewalk surfaces impacted were repaired under supervision by a City of
Tracy Construction Inspector.
California Environmental Protection Agency
C3Recycled Paper
