In the event that any member of the field crew experiences <br /> any adverse effects of symptoms of exposure while onsite, the <br /> entire field crew should immediately halt work and act according <br /> to the instructions provided by the PM or SSO. <br /> 3 . The discovery of any condition that would suggest the exist- <br /> ence of a situation more hazardous than anticipated should result <br /> in the evacuation of the field team and reevaluation of the <br /> hazard and the level of protection required. <br /> 4 . In the event that an accident occurs, the PM is to complete a <br /> GO-42 Accident Report Form for submittal to the OSC. The OSC <br /> should assure that the fcllowup action is taken to correct the <br /> situation that caused the accident. <br /> 7 . 0 Standard Safe Work Practices <br /> 7 . 1 General <br /> 1 . Eating, drinking, chewing gum or tobacco, and smoking are <br /> prohibited in the work areas. <br /> 2. All field crew members should make use of their senses (all <br /> senses) to alert them to potentially dangerous situations in <br /> which they should not become involved ( i .e. , presence of strong, <br /> irritating or nauseating odors) . <br /> 3. Prevent spillages of any liquid brought onsite or removed <br /> from the site. In the event that a spillage occurs, contain <br /> liquid if possible. <br /> 4. Field crew members shall be familiar with the physical char- <br /> acteristics of the site and project work, including: <br /> . Accessibility to associates, equipment, and vehicles. <br /> • Communications. <br /> . Areas known or suspected to contain oily soil . <br /> • Site access. <br /> . Nearest water sources . <br /> 5 . The number of personnel and equipment in the work area should <br /> be minimized but only to the extent consistent with work force <br /> requirements of safe site operations . <br /> 6 . All wastes generated during Chevron activities at the site <br /> will be disposed of as directed by the PM or SSO. <br />
