Box 1461
Stockton, CA 95201
Project Status, Nomellini Construction Company, 1045 West Charter Way, Stockton,
San Joaquin County
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board) staff
reviewed the following reports, all submitted on your behalf by Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE):
• the Soil-Vapor Investigation Report— First Quarter 2018 (Soil Gas Report) dated
2 April 2018,
• the Groundwater Monitoring Report— Fourth Quarter 2097(4Q2017 Report) dated
27 March 2018,
• the Soil Vapor Investigation Report dated 14 September 2017,
• and the Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan—August 2017 (Work Plan) dated
29 August 2017.
The Nomellini Construction Company property is located at 1045 West Charter Way in Stockton
(Site).
AGE installed two soil gas wells, SV-1 and SV-2, in May 2017, and collected a shallow soil
sample from 5 ft bgs from each boring. AGE did not detect petroleum hydrocarbons in either
soil sample. AGE performed two soil gas sampling events, one in August 2017 and one in
March 2018. During the August 2017 event, AGE detected 3.4 micrograms per cubic meter
(ug/m3) of toluene and 5 ug/m3 methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE) in sample SV-2. AGE did not
detect petroleum hydrocarbons in either sample collected during the March 2018 sampling
event. Percent oxygen was 3.6% and 7.8% during the August 2017 sampling event, and 4.7%
and 10% during the March 2018 sampling event. The leak detection compound was not
detected in any of the samples.
In the Work Plan, AGE proposes to install two intermediate screened wells, MW-16 and MW-17,
both screened from 35 to 55 feet below ground surface (ft bgs). Well MW-16 is proposed to be
located approximately 5 to 10 feet from previously proposed soil boring B-23, and well MW-17 is
proposed to be located approximately 5 to 10 feet from previously proposed boring B-24. AGE
proposed to perform 4 quarterly monitoring events after installation.
KARL E.
