PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES The following procedures will be performed prior to any diggingidrilling activities: • Prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U S. Environmental Protection Agency, October 1985 • Notify the PHS-EHD a minimum of 48 hours prior to commencement of any work, while securing proper city/county soil boring or well permits. • All drilling locations will be marked at least 48 hours in advance for an Underground Service Alert (USA) check of underground utilities or pipes. In addition, the following procedures will be performed prior to construction/start-up of the SVE system: • An application for a site specific permit will be submitted to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District prior- to initiation of the remediation project. • Proper building permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Building (Department for necessary SVE construction work, including electrical source installations. 4.2. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION WELL INSTALLATION Based on soil and ground water data collected to date, AGE proposes installation of six SVE wells with the following well construction: • near- boring 135; slant well at 25 degree angle: screened 20 feet to 50 feet bsg; • near boring B4; vertical well screened fi-om 25 feet to 55 feet bsg. • near- boring MW-3; vertical well screened from 25 feet to 55 feet bsg. • near boring 136; vertical well screened from 25 feet to 55 feet bsg. • near boring B4 vertical well screened from 1.5 feet to 45 feet bsg. • near boring MW-I, dual-screened vertical well, screened from 20 feet to 35 feet bsg and fi•om 40 feet to 70 feet bsg.
