Delineation and Destruction Work Plan for Well B-1
QC samples. In part, laboratory QC samples consist of matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate
samples. Laboratory QC samples are a subset of the field-investigation-derived sample. The
laboratory QC requirements are included in the laboratory QA project plans, which are included
in the water quality sampling and analysis plan for the site (Dudek&Associates 2004).
8.2 Data Management
Steps will be taken in the field, office, and laboratory to ensure that data are transferred accurately
from collection to analysis to reporting. Sample documentation, including labeling, chain-of-
custody forms, and custody seals, will be completed to ensure that data are transferred accurately
to the laboratory. Notes will be taken in the field to double-check chain-of-custody forms for
accuracy. Laboratory reports will be checked for completeness. Final laboratory reports will be
reviewed by the laboratory QA manager or laboratory project manager for errors before release.
Data will be entered into the computer by hand, and the data entry will be checked by a second
person. The data listed in the text, tables, and figures will be checked against the laboratory reports.
Instrument Calibration
Laboratory calibration activities are described in the laboratory QA project plans. Field calibration
activities and results will be recorded on forms and included with field notes.
9 REPORTING
Following completion of the delineation and destruction activities, as described in Chapter 2,
Delineation of Impacts from Unauthorized Release, and Chapter 3, Well Destruction Activities,
Dudek will prepare a delineation and destruction completion report. The report will include an
evaluation of the groundwater and soil sampling results, discussion of the extent of impacts from
the unauthorized release, a summary of the destruction activities, the County EHD-approved
well destruction permits, and certification of proper well destruction by a state-licensed C-57
drilling contractor.
10 ADDITIONAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
This delineation and destruction work plan will be submitted to DTSC for approval. The approved
delineation and destruction work plan will be provided to the County EHD prior to fieldwork to
obtain a monitoring well destruction permit. Per the County Well Standards(2005),a County EHD
inspector may be present during the well decommissioning field activities.
10886-7
DUDEK 12 January 2019
