Health and Safety Plan for
Delineation and Destruction of Well B-1
• Heavy equipment has the right of way over light vehicles.
• Personnel should not walk directly in back of, or to the side of, heavy equipment without the
operator's knowledge. Workers must avoid entering the swing radius of equipment during
operation of the equipment and be aware of potential pinch points on articulating equipment.
3.1.7 Housekeeping
All personnel must maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Aisles and passageways are
to be kept clear and in good repair to provide for safe movement of employees and equipment.
Materials that are stored on-site must be stacked and/or secured in such a way as to prevent
collapse or overturning. Materials should not be allowed to accumulate in such manner that
presents a safety or fire hazard.
3.1.8 Material and Equipment Handling
Equipment and materials may be lifted by on-site personnel from time to time during field
activities. Injuries related from lifting may be avoided by following proper lifting techniques and
using safety equipment (gloves, steel-toed boots). Where appropriate, personnel shall work
together or use mechanical aids to lift materials. Proper lifting techniques include the following:
• Plan your movement and verify that the path is clear of obstructions or other hazards.
• Lift close to your body while maintaining a firm grip on the object.
• Lift with your knees, not your back; keep your back straight.
• Firmly plant your feet approximately shoulder-width apart.
• Turn your whole body, do not bend or twist at the waist.
• Use caution when holding an object from the bottom to prevent crushing of the hands or
fingers when lowering.
3.1.9 Noise
Noise will be generated by the operation of heavy equipment or other machinery. Hearing
protection with the appropriate noise reduction rating shall be worn in areas with high noise
levels or during times where excessive noise is present as measured by the safety coordinator,
including when the drill rig is operating. If loud noise is present or normal conversation
becomes difficult, hearing protection in the form of earplugs, or equivalent, will be required.
Dudek personnel will be provided with hearing protection.
10275-4
D U D E K 9 June 2017
