KLEINFELDER
File No. 20-3978-O1.W10
July 26, 1997
4.2 Farmhouse Area(File No. 20-3978-O1.WR2)
Based on the results of the subsurface assessment conducted in this area, Kleinfelder had the
following recommendations detailed in our report "Limited Phase II Soil and Groundwater
Assessment, Farmhouse Area, (Portion'of Phase I ESA Recommendation Numbers 7, 9, 12 and
18), Former Spreckels Sugar Plant No. 2, 18800 South Spreckels Road, Manteca, California,
(APN#243-210-56)"dated February 24, 1997:
1. The equipment decontamination rinseate and drilling returns (soil) should be properly
disposed of by the Client. Kleinfelder can assist the Client in that disposal at an additional
charge if requested by the client.
2. If discolored soil, odors, or other evidence of contamination are encountered during site
grading, development, etc..., our office should be notified immediately.
3. A copy of this report should be submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Department Environmental Health Division and the Central Valley Office of the State of
California Regional Water Quality Control Board by the Atherton-Kirk for their review and
consideration.
4. Based on the above reported analytical results, Kleinfelder does not recommend any further
investigation or clean-up at the farmhouse area sites. owever, Klemfelder recommends that
a copy of this report be submitted to the RWQCB and PHS/EHD for their review and
comment. Additionally, Kleinfelder recommends t t a letter of "no further action" be
requested from both agencies. Atherton-Kirk s uld then have all environmental
documentation regarding this site reviewed by a comp tent environmental attorney for such
issues as liability, etc....
20-3978-01.W1012017L155 Page 20 of 50 Copyright 1997,Kleinfelder,Inc.
