Violation#102—Failed to determine if a waste is hazardous waste. Actions taken—Listed below is each item and corresponding action taken. • Two white 55-gallon containers observed with unknown contents. Inspected contents of drums and found to be a mix of diesel fuel, motor oil, and rainwater. Transferred contents to two 55-gallon steel drums and sealed. Drums to be disposed of by Safety-Kleen on or around 10/16/19. Marked both drums with hazardous waste decals with applicable information. Cleaned up both white containers with degreaser and water and disposed of cleaning solution in containment basin.Wiped clean with shop rags and transferred rags to fire safe soiled rag containers. One cleaned out white container was disposed of into a mixed waste dumpster,the other is now being utilized for a garbage can in the shop. • Two oil pans observed with used oil covered in plastic bags. Used oil was transferred to bulk waste oil tank. Plastic pans and bags covering them were cleaned up with degreaser and water and cleaning solution disposed of in containment basin. Cleaned up pans and plastic were disposed of in mixed waste dumpster. • Three black 55-gallon containers with unknown contents. All three barrels were empty.Two barrels were utilized for the disposal of the contents in the previously mentioned white containers. Both drums now have a mix of diesel, oil, and rainwater. Both drums are now labeled with hazardous waste decals with applicable information. Safety-Kleen is scheduled to pick up for disposal on or around 10/16/19. One empty barrel is now in the shop with our other empty barrels to be picked up on their regular schedule the week of 10/6/19. • One black 55-gallon container with the words"bad DEF" marked on it. Labeled drum with hazardous waste decal and applicable information. Scheduled pick up with Safety-Kieen for on or around 10/16/19.
