Violation#301—Facility not maintained to minimize the release of hazardous waste. Actions taken—Listed below is each item and corresponding action taken • Waste oil and coolant observed accumulating on the floor of the shop under a truck. Mopped up spills and disposed of clean up liquid in containment basin. Instructed technicians about the violation and what steps they can take to prevent it going forward. Going forward all fluids must be drained directly into drain pans and in the event,there is spillage it must be cleaned up immediately. • Waste oil observed accumulating on the floor underneath the truck. Mopped up spill and disposed of clean up liquid in containment basin. Instructed technicians about the violation and what steps they can take to prevent it going forward. Mopped up spill and cleaned area around filter crusher with degreaser. Disposed of clean up liquid in containment basin. Cleaned up drain pans with degreaser and power washer in wash bay area over containment basin drain trough. Inspected drain pans to ensure there are no cracks and or leaking fittings. • One oil pan with used oil observed on the floor of the shop next to used oil filter containers. Pumped oil into used oil storage tank. Cleaned up drain pan with degreaser and power washer in wash bay area over containment basin drain trough. Inspected drain pan to ensure there are no cracks and or leaking fittings. Instructed technicians to immediately pump used oil into storage tank instead of waiting until the end of the shift. • One black 5-gallon bucket with used oil in and on the floor of the shop observed next to used oil filter containers. Pumped oil into used oil storage tank. Cleaned up bucket and lid with shop rags and transferred rags to fire safe soiled rag container. Disposed of bucket and lid in mixed waste dumpster. • Hydraulic oil observed on the floor of the shop underneath approximately 100-gallon hydraulic oil tank. Mopped up spill and cleaned area around storage tank with degreaser. Disposed of clean up liquid in containment basin.Cleaned up hard to reach areas with shop rags and transferred rags to fire safe soiled rag container.
