KLEINFELDER
• Qualified Data: qualifiers attached to the analytical data (usually by the
laboratory) will be addressed prior to using the data received in the screening
evaluation;
• Tentatively Identified Compounds: such identified compounds are in
question, both in identity and concentration. If a significant number of such
compounds are identified when compared to the non-tentative compounds,
they will be discussed with the DTSC prior to use in the screening survey;
• Comparison with Background Data: compounds, such as metals, are present
in the environment naturally at varying concentrations depending on the site
location. A comparison will be made between the analytical sample results
from on site and available local or regional background levels. The selection
of the background data set to be used for comparison purposes will be
discussed with the DTSC. If the background risk is of concern, it would be
handled separately from the on site risk evaluation. At this time Kleinfelder
proposes to use background metals concentrations obtained from a vacant
field adjacent east of the site or along the sites eastern property boundary if
offsite access is not granted.
Chemicals that are not eliminated by the above assessment are considered the
chemicals of potential concern (COPC) for the site. These COPC will be used in the
subsequent screening survey.
6.7. SUMMARY SAMPLING AND ANALYSES TABLES
The proposed soil sampling program is summarized on Tables 7 and 8. Sample bottles,
preservatives and hold times are summarized on Table 9. Field QC samples are
summarized on Table 10. Laboratory quality assurance information is included in
Appendix C.
57252.T02/ST05R999/DH:ly Page 20 of 29
02005 Kleinfelder, Inc. September 1,2005
