(AGE) on behalf of Idealease for the
property at 1137 South Stockton Street in Stockton (Site).
The Site is in an industrial and commercial area of west Stockton. Site features include
an office building, truck wash facility, fuel dispenser area, and one 12,000-gallon diesel
aboveground tank (AGT).
The Work Plan proposes excavating two areas at the Site to a maximum depth of
10 feet below ground surface (bgs) and removing about 325 cubic yards of
contaminated soil. One area is under the fueling canopy and the other is south of the
truck wash area. Idealease will collect confirmation soil samples from the base and
sidewalls of each excavation and analyze them for total petroleum hydrocarbons as
diesel (TPHd), benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylenes (collectively BTEX).
Our comments are presented below:
1. Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with the proposal to excavate about
325 cubic yards of contaminated soil from two areas at the Site. By
31 August 2010, Idealease needs to excavate the contaminated soil; collect and
analyze the soil samples; and submit a report of findings.
2. The excavation area under the fueling canopy extends near monitoring well
MW-4. Idealease needs to be careful not to damage or destroy this monitoring
well during excavation activities.
In summary, by 31 August 2010, please excavate the contaminated soil; collect and
analyze soil samples; and submit a report of findings.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Cd Recycled Paper
