contain a north orientation, loading areas, internal roads, adjacent streets, storm and
sewer drains, access and exit points, emergency shutoffs, evacuation staging areas,
hazardous material handling and storage areas, and emergency response equipment. if
a site map element is not applicable for your facility then list it on the map and label
as "NA".
The site map does not show:
1. loading areas
a. The Loading Area with the double doors is illustrated as "Emergency Loading
Area"
b. What would you like me to do to fix this? I am confused by what you mean
2. internal roads
a. There are no internal roads per se, but the driveways are denoted— is there a better
way you would like them drawn? I just don't understand what the labeling
requirement is — it says "Coronado Avenue" and "Driveway"
b. Just let me know how you prefer it and I'll fix it.
3. emergency shutoffs
a. The electrical shutoffs are illustrated.
b. There are no diesel shutoffs as they are internal fuel tanks.
c. What other kind of shutoff are you thinking about? Just tell me and I'll go find
them.
4. evacuation staging areas
a. So I think these are defined in the plan, right, so I just need to have a bubble
showing where those two are? I did read the plan so I think I know what you are
talking about.
5. emergency response equipment (fire extinguishers and spill control),
a. do you want every single fire extinguisher in the building placed on the map?
They are all wall mounted and if that is what you want I will do it.
b. There are eye-wash stations, but they are left-over from the lead-acid battery
systems. The current sealed gel batteries do not have a spill risk.
c. Is there a specific type of spill containment kit I need to buy for the diesel fuel?
d. I think part of the problem here is all of this is so old and both the equipment and
the rules have changed, so just tell me what I'm supposed to have and I'll go buy it
and put it on the map. We have bags of kitty litter we use in the parking lot, but
since we don't fuel or refuel, the clean-up is the responsibility of the fuel truck,
who has a full containment kit on their truck.
e. Again, we are happy to comply, just let me know because stuff is outdated.
6. and the legend does not define "AC EPO" and "DC EPO"—
a. EPO is a standard term, but I added "Emergency Power Off' to the legend— let me
know if this is adequate. If there is a more standard term you'd prefer to see that
makes more sense to you guys just let me know. We want things to be clear.
6
