Hazelton Avenue <br /> Stockton, CA 95205-6232 <br /> Subject: River Islands Phase 113 <br /> Monitoring Wells MWR-1 and MWR-2 <br /> Lathrop, California <br /> WORK PLAN FOR WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> Dear Mr. Yokum: <br /> As requested by our client, Ms. Susan Dell'Osso, ENGEO has prepared this work plan for <br /> monitoring well abandonment at the subject site, located within Phase 113 of the River Islands <br /> Project in Lathrop, California. We present this work plan to the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department and request approval to perform the services described below. <br /> The two wells to be abandoned are identified as MWR-1 and MWR-2 as shown on the Site Plan <br /> (Figure 1). These wells were installed in 1999 by others for the purpose of monitoring groundwater <br /> levels at the site.It is our understanding that these wells are in an area planned for new construction. <br /> We understand that Scott Armstrong with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Waste Discharge to Land Unit has authorized the removal of these wells from the monitoring <br /> network. These wells will need to be destroyed and abandoned in accordance with San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department requirements. This work plan is also being submitted to <br /> the City of Lathrop and Regional Water Quality Control Board for their review. <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject wells situated west of S. Manthey Road and south of Stewart Road in western <br /> Lathrop are located within the following parcels: <br /> • MWR-1; APN 213-30-011; Lathrop, CA. Parcel owned by River Islands Development, LLC. <br /> • MWR-2; APN 213-310-010; Lathrop, CA. Parcel owned by River Islands Development, <br /> LLC. <br /> The well casings are 2-inch-diameter PVC and are screened approximately from 10 to 20 feet <br /> below the ground surface (bgs).
