(ATC) that you have denied their request for access to your
property located at 15400 Steinegul Road to sample the water from the onsite
domestic well.
ATC is currently conducting a site investigation of the former underground storage tank
(UST) site located south of your property at 15634 Steinegul Road, known as Former
Raymond Greer Construction. This property is a contaminated UST site listed with the
EHD's Local Oversight Program (LOP). The LOP program is a state funded program
the purpose of which is to oversee investigations and cleanups of sites where the soil
and groundwater have been contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons from leaking
UST systems.
There currently exist at the Former Raymond Greer Construction site eight
groundwater monitoring wells that are monitored and sampled on a routine schedule.
The groundwater samples collected from these wells, and from the domestic well on
the property, are analyzed for specific petroleum hydrocarbon constituents. The results
of these analyses are public record and are reported to the current and former property
owner, the EHD and the State and Regional Water Resources Control Boards. They
are available for review on Geotracker, the State Water Resources Control Board's
internet database, which can be accessed at http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov/.
The former owner of your property had allowed ATC access to sample their domestic
well. The well was sampled and the groundwater analyzed once in 2003 and three
times in 2008. Twice in 2008 the analytical results reported detections of methyl tertiary
butyl ether (MtBE) in the water from your well at concentrations of 0.58 micrograms per
liter (Ng/1) and 0.53 pg/I. These concentrations are below both the primary maximum
contaminant level (mcl) of 13.0 Ng/I, and the secondary mcl of 5.0 pg/I for safe drinking
water standards established by the California Department of Public Health. All other
constituents analyzed for were reported as non-detect.
