' Greer Property <br /> 15634 Steinegul Road September 9, 2000 <br /> Escalon, California Page. 9 <br />' Report of Findings <br /> 6.0 Conclusions <br />' Based on the field observations and the laboratory data collected during this investigation <br /> at 15634 Stemegul Road, Escalon, CA, WBF has drawn the following conclusions <br />' <br /> ■ So contamination it exists in the subsurface layer at this site The depths at which most <br /> Y <br /> of the contamination was found was near 40' below ground level and in the vicinity of <br />' 70' below ground level <br /> • The vertical extent of the soil contamination has not been defined for this site Soil <br />' contamination was found at the termination point at 100' in B-104 (MW-6) The <br /> lateral extent of the soil contamination has been identified to a small area around the <br />' former UST's The contamination mdentified in VE-3 and MW-5 is below the <br /> groundwater water table and is a result of contaminated groundwater migration <br />' ■ Significant groundwater contamination is present in the groundwater underlying this <br /> site, especially in the form of Benzene MTBE and TBA contamination was also <br /> found to be present across the investigation area <br /> lie • The soils underlying this site are dense which may affect the radius of influence of the <br /> vapor extraction wells <br /> ■ The lateral extent of the groundwater contamination plume has not been defined to the <br /> north and east The groundwater contanunation extends beyond MW-3 and MW-5 <br />' <br /> • The domestic well on-site did not show the presence of the chemicals of concern <br />' above the reporting limits <br />' 7.0 Recommendations <br /> After reviewing that data collected during this investigation, WBF recommends the <br />' following actions <br /> • Perform quarterly monitoring at flus site for a period of one year (4 quarters) to <br />' evaluate, investigate, and monitor the groundwater conditions at this site This will <br /> supply data to determine the best course of action to mitigate the groundwater <br /> contamination plume <br />' ■ Perform the soil vapor extraction (SVE) pilot study to evaluate the suitability of SVE <br /> as a remediation technique for the soil and groundwater and to acquire data necessary <br />' for the design of an SVE system <br />
