Ranch Market Water System <br /> Page 2. <br /> In addition please identify the distances from the location of the well to all of the potential sources <br /> of contamination and pollution listed in Section 3.1 of the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Environmental Health Division Well Standards(enclosed). <br /> 2. The following water quality testing shall be completed from the new well prior to EHD approving <br /> the water source for a use as a public water system and prior to the market being connected to the <br /> new well. The results of this monitoring shall be submitted to EHD. State certified laboratory <br /> personnel shall do the sampling of the well and testing of the water from a state approved <br /> laboratory facility. Instruct the laboratory to label these samples as "Well 2"for the well and <br /> obtain the water samples from the wellhead once the new pump has been installed. The old well <br /> must remain connected to the system until EHD receives these results and approves the new well. <br /> a. Inorganic Chemicals: Fluoride is due at least once (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 (m)(1)). <br /> b. Secondary(aesthetics): Bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide alkalinity, calcium, iron, <br /> magnesium, manganese,pH, sodium, and total hardness are due at least once (California Co, <br /> of Regulations(CCR), Title 22, Section 64449). <br /> C. Nitrates: Required annually. Sampling shall be quarterly if the results exceed %2 of the <br /> Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 45mg/L(CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 (a)). <br /> d. Nitrites: Required once every three years (CCR,Title 22, Section 64432 (a)). <br /> e. Bacteriological: This Department will require at least two consecutive bacteriological sample, <br /> that are Total Coliform Absent and Fecal Absent. The tests shall be taken and reported within <br /> seven-day period and in no case be comvleted more than twenty-eight(28) days prior to use o <br /> the well. The water samples collected for the presence of bacteria shall be tested for chlorine <br /> residuals. The chlorine residual levels shall be recorded on the bacteriological lab results. Tb <br /> chlorine residual shall be less than 0.05 ppm for the bacteriological result to be accepted. <br /> Routine bacteriological samples will then be required once each calendar month from the <br /> distribution system. <br /> 3. Complete the enclosed Sample Siting Plan. Contact EHD for assistance with this plan. <br /> 4. Submit the driller's well log to EHD and an updated technical report as required by the Health and <br /> Safety(H&S) Code, Section 116530. <br /> 5. Submit to EHD the manufacturer's specification sheets for the well pump and storage tanks <br /> including the pump curve data sheet. <br /> 6. The enclosed Technical Managerial and Financial (TMF) Capacity Assessment Form shall be <br /> completed and submitted to this office for review Z. <br /> According to the California Health and Safety Code section 116540, "no public water system that was <br /> not in existence on January 1, 1998, shall be granted a permit unless the system demonstrates to the <br /> Department that the water supplier possesses adequate financial,managerial, and technical capacity to <br /> assure the delivery of pure,wholesome, and potable drinking water. This section shall also apply to any <br /> change of ownership of a public water system that occurs after January 1, 1998". <br />
