Ranch Market Water System
Page 3.
7. Any well constructed for this facility shall comply with the well surface seal (pedestal)
specifications of the San Joaquin County Well Standards 4.10 and the Water Well Standards State
of California Bulletin 74-81.
The following issues are not conditions of the water permit but are concerns of EHD that should be
considered.
1. The use of low flow toilets and low water use equipment is recommended as a conservation
measure and to reduce the load on the existing septic systems.
2. The EHD encourages incorporation of a flow meter as part of the installation of a new water
source. This can be a useful tool in the overall water-monitoring program.
3. The EHD strongly encourages that the well site be secured with fencing in a manner that allows
water system staff access for maintenance and operation.
4. The EHD strongly encourages that water line(s) for domestic use (i.e. hand washing, toilets,
showers, break rooms, drinking faucets, food preparation sinks, emergency wash sinks/showers
and the like.)be separated at the well from the water line(s)that supply water for industrial,
irrigation or fire suppression uses. An appropriate back-flow prevention assembly shall be
installed on the non-domestic use water line(s).
For final approval to operate a public water system, an inspection of the facility's distribution system and
water source by EHD must be arranged. Call Adrienne Ellsaesser at (209) 468-0343 or Willy Ng,REHS
at (209) 468-3448 to schedule an inspection or for any assistance or questions regarding this matter.
Donna Heran, REHS
Director of Environmental Health Department
Adrienne Ellsaesser,Lead Sr. REHS Margaro'REHS
Small Public Water Systems,Unit IV Unit IV Supervisor
