Based on the cost of the well replacement,
the UST Cleanup Fund required that an additional evaluation of potable water sources be evaluated.
In our 18 August 2000 letter, we requested you to locate and install a permanent water supply well by
15 September 2000, and to properly destroy DW-2 by 1 October 2000. Based on the new requirements
from the UST Cleanup Fund, these dates are not possible. Therefore, the requirements to install a
permanent water supply well and to properly destroy DW-2 are suspended. Once the UST Cleanup Fund
approves one of the permanent water supply replacement alternatives, we will send a letter requesting
the installation of the approved alternative, and the destruction of DW-2.
If you have any questions or comments, please call me at (916) 255-3115.
Marty Hartzell
Associate Engineering Geologist
cc: Ms. Wennilyn Fua, UST Cleanup Fund, SWRCB, Sacramento
Mr. Mike Infurna, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, Stockton
Mr. Jaff Auchterlonie, Secor International Incorporated, Sacramento
California Environmental Protection Agency
ped Recycled Paper
