Santa Fe Rd.
' Riverbank, CA.,95367.
San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division (PIS-EHD) is
concerned with the status of the water source for 23565 S. Santa Fe Road.
z
T Due to the unauthorized release of petroleum products from the underground storage tanks (UST)
3 previously located at your site, the occupants of the adjacent residence (23565 S. Santa Fe Road)
chave been advised not to use the water from their onsite water well for domestic purposes. As a
c temporary measure to provide a water supply,a hard-line connection from the Ranch Market
domestic water well to the house was allowed by PHS-EHD,only until a permanent and adequate
solution was proposed by you and approved by P1S-EHD.
r
As of this date, alternatives for a permanent water source have not been submitted to PHS-EHD.
The occupants of this residence must be provided a permanent potable water supply under their
control. You are hereby directed to provide written alternatives to PHS-EHD by June 1,
2000, that include permanent measures for supplying a consistent, independent, potable,
and pressurized drinking water source to the residence located at 23565 S. Santa Fe Road.
PHS-EHD recommends that you request bids from multiple G57 California Licensed Well Drillers
for installing a replacement well with a two hundred foot (200') grout seal on the property at 23565
S. Santa Fe Road. The well location should be based on the required distances from septic systems,
available electrical connection, and the greatest distance it can be placed from the known petroleum
contamination given the other site factors. Prior to installing the well,a test hole should be drilled
and the groundwater sampled and analyzed for TPH as Gasoline,BTEY,MtBE,pesticides,
fertilizers, and fecal coliform. The laboratory test results should be submitted to P1S-EHD for
1 approval prior to installation of the well. A PHS-EHD permit to install the test hole and the well is
required.
r
In addition, the water from the domestic well at the Ranch Market is to be sampled and
tested for bacteria (fecal coliform from the upgradient septic system), fertilizers and
pesticides immediately. The results of the analyses are to be forwarded to P1S-EHD directly
from the Department of Health Services certified laboratory that your consultant recommends.
The laboratory data should be received by PHS-EHD no later than June 1, 2000.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
