It is possible that the
DPE could achieve the remediation goal without the need to inject the PermeOx. That will not be known
until after the DPE is complete.
Geocon is recommending that we evaluate the need for PermeOx injections after the DPE phase of the
Interim Alternative Remedial Action Plan is complete. There is no sense in spending $10,000 on a
Geochemical Evaluation if there will be no need for PermeOx injections. If additional polishing of
contaminants in groundwater is necessary after the DPE phase is complete, we can entertain alternatives
to the PermeOx injections that may not require the Geochemical Evaluation.
Please review the Interim Alternatives Remedial Action Plan and caveat your approval that the PermeOx
injections can not be performed until a Geochemical Evaluation or Bench Scale Study has been
completed to the satisfaction of the RWQCB.
Regards,
Matt Hanko
Senior Project Scientist
(925)371-5900 ext 203
(925) 785-5021 cell
hanko@ggoconinc.com
9/6/2005
