Work Plan For Remedial Approach and Well Installation 7
Ranch Market Site,23569 South Santa Fe Road,Riverbank,California May 2,2002
the design drawings for preparation of as-built drawings.
Monthly Operation and Maintenance of the SVE System with Vapor Phase Carbon
As part of the system operation and maintenance, SECOR will visit the site one time per month
to monitor and adjust the ozone sparging well configurations and the SVE extraction rates.
Equipment maintenance and monitoring for fugitive emissions of ozone in the lateral piping
trenches and well boxes will also be performed during the site visit. Monthly air samples will
be collected from the influent and effluent vapor lines and analyzed for BTEX, TPHg, and
MtBE using EPA method 8260. The air sample data will be compiled and tracked to comply
with San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District Permit to Operate.
Vapor Phase Carbon Change-Out
After approximately 4 to 5 months of operation, SECOR estimates the carbon in the first vessel
will be saturated and require replacement. A carbon profile sample will be collected and
analyzed, the carbon will be profiled for disposal, and taken to a licensed regeneration facility.
Quarterly Monitoring and Sampling
Site groundwater monitoring and sampling will continue to be performed on a quarterly basis
using the existing well array. Water will continue to be analyzed BTEX,TPHg, 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and five oxygenates: methyl-tertiary-
butyl ether(MtBE), diisopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl-tert-butyl ether(EtBE), tert-amyl-methyl
ether(TAME), and tert-butanol (TBA), using Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)Method
8260B.
SECOR recommends that well AS-1 be included in the current groundwater monitoring and
sampling schedule. Since the well is completed with a screen set from 40 to 45 feet bgs, water
samples will be able to track the progress of the remediation within the source area from a deep
well screen.
Quarterly Monitoring Reports
Site groundwater monitoring and system efficiency reports will be prepared and submitted on a
quarterly basis or in compliance with the air discharge permit requirements. System efficiency
reporting will include summaries of mass extracted, mass extraction rates, and any
modifications to system operation, which may have increased mass extraction rates.
