SECOR
liNerurrliuual Aicoi/)uru(ccl
April 25, 2000 i
Mr. Marty Hartzell
California RWQCB Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road, Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827-3098
Subject: Revised Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Assessment
Ranch Market
23569 South Santa Fe Road
Riverbank, California
SECOR Project No. 077.42006
Dear Mr. Hartzell:
SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), working on behalf of Mr. Durhim Ali Jubari,
submits this letter as a revised work plan for soil and groundwater assessment at the Ranch
Market located at 23569 South Santa Fe Road in Riverbank, California(Figures 1 and 2
Attachment 1). The scope of work presented in this work plan supercedes SECOR's Work Plan
for Soil and Groundwater Assessment dated March 30, 2000.
REGULATORY REVIEW& DIRECTION
This work scope will be conducted in response to two Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region(RWQCB) letters: the initial letter dated February 28 and a follow-up
letter dated April 10, 2000 from Mr. Marty Hartzell (Attachment 2). Due to the presence of
methyl-tert butyl ether(MtBE) in an active drinking water well,the RWQCB considers this Site
investigation and cleanup a high priority. The RWQCB letters request the assessment include:
• Definition of the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater
contamination on and off-site;
• Vertical definition of soils utilizing a continuous coring method near the former
underground storage tanks (USTs), and next to domestic well DW-2;
• Onsite soil borings, located east, west, and north of the former tank pit.
File.
