R_ In the First Quarter 2004, up to six inches of free product was observed in groundwater monitoring <br /> well MW-3 and only a sheen of free product was observed in Second and Third Quarter 2004. <br /> Approximately one-half inch of free product was measured in well MW-3 during'the Fourth Quarter <br /> 2004 monitoring event. <br /> 3,3 Remediation System Operation and Maintenance and Performance Summary <br /> Operation and maintenance (O&M) of the remediation system is performed monthly (or as needed). <br /> -, Photo ionization detector(PID) readings from the SVE effluent and influent is performed monthly as <br /> required by the San.Joaquin Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJUAPCD). As required by <br /> SJUAPCD,.a chart recorder provides a continuous chart of the catalytic oxidizer temperature. The <br /> chart paper is changed out on a weekly basis. A brief description and performance evaluation of the <br /> remedial system for the reporting period is presented below. <br /> 3.3.1 SVE System <br /> The SVE system is comprised of a skid-mounted 250-efm blower and catalytic oxidizer(SCAT-250) <br /> with knockout pot manifoided to ten SVE wells (V-1.through V-10). During the reporting period,the <br /> y -SVE system was approximately 89% operational. <br /> On April 13 and 20,the chart paper was changed out. <br /> On May 3, 10, 17, 26, and 31, the chart paper was changed out and contaminant concentrations, . <br /> flow, and vacuum were monitored in extraction wells V2,-V3, V5, and V6,the only wells open to the . <br /> SVE skid. On May 3, vapor influent and effluent samples were 'collected and transported to Kiff <br /> F.+ Analytical for analysis. On May 26,the flow and vacuum were adjusted to direct vacuum and flow to <br /> those wells with the highest PID readings. <br /> On June 7, 14, 21, and 27,the chart paper was changed out.'On June 8,monitoring was conducted on <br /> wells V2, V3, V5, and V6. Vapor influent and effluent samples were collected and transported to <br /> Kiff Analytical for-analysis. Adjustments were made to direct more vacuum and flow to those wells <br /> with the highest FID readings. <br /> On July 6, 13, 20, and 27,the chart paper was changed out. On July 6, monitoring was conducted on <br /> wells V2, V3, V5, and V6. Vapor influent and effluent samples were collected and transported to <br /> Kiff Analytical for analysis. Adjustments were made to direct more vacuum and flow to those wells <br /> with the highest PID readings. <br /> On August 10, 17, 23, and 31, the chart paper was changed out. On August 3, monitoring was . <br /> t conducted on wells V2, V3, V5, and V6. Vapor influent and effluent samples were collected and <br /> transported to Kiff Analytical for analysis. The PID reading for the effluent was at 53 ppm and was <br /> assumed that.this PID reading was indicative of an effluent discharge concentration that would <br /> Project No.S8643.06-01 -6- December 30,2004 <br />
