- 2 -
San Joaquin County October 12 , 1993
Attn: Mr. Mike Huggins
Subject: Mr. Bill Scholz Property
Soil Suitability Study
Also attached is a copy of a water analysis performed
September 27 , 1993 on an existing irrigation well located on the
subject property. The results for the nitrate and DBCP levels were
found to be acceptable.
Within a radius of one-fourth (,) mile of the subject property,
there are two (2) existing residences, including a mobile home on the
subject site. Within the past twenty (20) years, there has been one
(1) known septic system failure within this area. Environmental
Health Permit Number 86-569 was issued to a residence located at 5601
Escalon-Bellota Road on June 4 , 1986 which involved the installation
of 100 feet of leach line. Recognizing that it is not unusual for
leaching facilities to have a life expectancy of approximately fifteen
(15) years, the above instance of failure is not unreasonable.
Because of the inconsistent soil conditions in this area, it is
recommended that seepage pits be installed and an area of 12 , 000
square feet be set aside for future leaching fields.
It is the opinion of the undersigned that the soil conditions are
suitable for the purpose of the owner' s intention to create four (4)
10 . 0-acre parcels and two (2) 20-acre parcels for future residences
which will be served by private septic tank systems .
In consideration of the fact that the subject property will
provide for a maximum of six (6) additional new septic tank systems,
it is the opinion of the undersigned that the subject application will
not have an adverse cumulative effect on the quality of the
groundwater in the area. Our professional opinion is that the above
findings and statements do not constitute either an expressed or
implied guarantee or warranty.
Very truly yours,
SIEGFRIED ENGINEERING, Inc.
'1
BY
r /
Robert G.
