Remedial Well and Soil Vapor Extraction System Installation Report 1 <br /> Ranch Market 23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank CA November 27 2002 <br /> . 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report is submitted by SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) to summarize the <br /> methods and results of the remediation well and soil vapor extraction (SVE) system <br /> installation activities conducted on the Ranch Market site, located at 23569 South Santa Fe <br /> Road, Riverbank, California (Figures 1 and 2) The work was conducted in accordance with <br /> SECOR's Work Plan for Remedial Approach and Well Installation, dated May 2, 2002 The <br /> work plan was approved by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central <br /> Valley Region in a letter dated May 13, 2002 (Appendix A) <br /> The work summarized in this report includes <br /> 1 Obtaining permits and preparing a health and safety plan <br /> 2 Clearing boring locations using USA and a private utility locator <br /> 3 Drilling 24 hollow stem auger (HSA) soil borings <br /> 4 Installing 4 vapor extraction wells and 20 ozone sparge wells <br /> 5 Installing underground vapor extraction piping and SVE system <br /> 6 Recommendations for future work <br /> 2.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> Ranch Market is located on the west side of the road at 23569 South Santa Fe Road, <br /> Riverbank, California Currently the Site is being operated as a small convenience store The <br /> single story structure on the site is used as a convenience store and home for the store <br /> manager The Site is located approximately 1,200 feet north of the Stanislaus River in San <br /> Joaquin County The property is bounded on the north and east by Santa Fe Road and an <br /> almond orchard, to the west by undeveloped fields that extend to a Santa Fe Railroad track, <br /> and to the south by three residences shown on Figure 2 The Site and adjacent properties are <br /> flat lying and have an elevation of approximately 105 feet above mean sea level <br /> 2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removal <br /> The site was previously operated as a convenience store and retail gasoline fueling facility <br /> with three single walled steel gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) as shown on Figure <br /> 3 The date of installation, operation history, and inventory records of the USTs at the Site is <br /> unknown The three USTs two 1,000-gallon and one 5,000-gallon UST and associated <br /> pumps were removed from the Site on May 20, 1991 The single dispenser island was located <br /> directly over the tank pit, so no dispenser or fuel line soil samples were collected During <br /> . removal of the USTs, soil contamination was observed at the bottom of the tank excavation <br /> and documented in five soil samples collected after removal of the tanks (Table 1) <br /> I\Ranch Market-Rtverbank\ReportARB-Reined Well Install doc SECOR International Incorporated <br />
