Cone Penetrometer Assessment Report 6 <br /> Ranch Market,23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank,Cahforma November 20 2001 <br /> • Bonng I D Proposed Water Sample Depth Actual Water Sample Depth <br /> CPT-1 35 feet bgs Sampled at 40 feet bgs <br /> 50 feet bgs, 65 feet bgs No samples, refusal at 42 5 feet bgs <br /> CPT-2 35 feet bgs, 50 feet bgs, 65 feet bgs No samples, refusal at 40 feet bgs <br /> CPT-2A Bonng not proposed, drilled to Sampled at 35 feet bgs <br /> replace CPT-2 Refusal at 41 feet bgs <br /> CPT-3 35 feet bgs Sampled at 35 feet bgs <br /> The CPT soil borings were advanced using a direct push cone penetrometer testing ng to log <br /> soil stratigraphy Immediately adjacent to each CPT borehole, a second direct-push borehole <br /> was advanced to collect depth discrete grab groundwater samples from sand intervals defined <br /> by the CPT log (Attachment 5) Three water samples were collected from the borings in CPT- <br /> 1 at 40 feet bgs, in CPT-2A at 35 feet bgs, and in CPT-3 at 35 feet bgs Depth discrete grab <br /> groundwater samples were collected using a modified hydropunch sampler The sampler was <br /> driven to the desired depth and retracted 3 feet to expose the disposable schedule 20 PVC <br /> screen and allow groundwater to enter the hydropunch sampler The depth discrete water <br /> sample were collected by lowering a 3/a" diameter stainless steel bailer through the drive rods to <br /> groundwater The groundwater was bailed from the dnve rods, decanted from the bailer into <br /> 40-m1 VOA vials, and capped Each VOA vial was checked to insure no bubbles were present, <br /> labeled, placed on ice, and transported to the laboratory under chain-of-custody documentation <br /> The drive rods were retracted, leaving the disposable drive tip and 4 foot length of PVC well <br /> screen in the hole The drive rods and hydropunch sampler were steam cleaned, equipped with <br /> a new drive tip and PVC screen, and driven back into the borehole to the next sample depth <br /> The depth discrete water samples were labeled with the well number, placed in an insulated <br /> container on ice, and transported under standard chain-of-custody procedures to Kiff Analytical <br /> located in Davis, California The water samples were submitted for BTEX, TPHg,five <br /> oxygenates, and fuel additives 1,2-DCA and EDB analysis using EPA method 8260B <br /> All downhole drilling equipment was steam cleaned before drilling each borehole The down- <br /> hole sampling equipment was washed in a tri-sodium phosphate or AlconoxTM solution between <br /> each sampling effort The soil borings were tremie grouted back to grade using neat cement <br /> Domestic Water Wells <br /> Per the RWQCB request, SECOR attempted to monitor depth to bottom in domestic wells DW- <br /> 3 and DW-4 Permission was obtained from the two property owners prior to accessing each <br /> well However, the DW-3 property owners were not home the day the work was conducted and <br /> File Ranch Market\Reporls\Rb-CPT InstaU <br />
