Final Remediation Plan Page 4
Ranch Market 23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank CA February 28 2001
• 2.5 Chronology and Previous Site Assessments
Due to presence of gasoline in the tank pit soil samples collected following the removal of the
three USTs on May 20, 1991, additional assessment of the Site was required Referring to the
soil boring and well completion summary presented in Table 2, assessment of the site has
been on going since 1998
• On January 23, 1998, boring B-1 was drilled and sampled to assess conditions in soil
and groundwater beneath the UST pit Since the soil and grab groundwater samples
collected from B-1 contained gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons, additional
assessment was required (Table 1)
• On November 24, 1998 four monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) were installed
on and adjacent to the location of the former UST pit (Table 2) Since the soil and
groundwater samples collected from the three wells contained gasoline range
petroleum hydrocarbons (including MtBE), additional assessment was required (Table
1 and 3
• On October 7, 1999, domestic well DW-2 was sampled and found to contain 38 parts
per billion MtBE (Table 3) Due to the presence of MtBE, domestic well DW-2 was
sampled in November and December to confirm the presence of MtBE in the well
Domestic well DW-1, located on the Ranch Market Site, is now sampled monthly and
wells DW-2R, DW-3 and DW-4 are sampled quarterly
• On Apri19, 2000, SECOR conducted the 2nd Quarter monitoring and sampling event
(Table 3)
• On April 21, 2000, the RWQCB approved SECOR's April 20, 2000 Work Plan For
Domestic Well Video Logging
• On April 28, 2000, the RWQCB conditionally approves SECOR's April 25, 2000
Revised Work Plan For Soil and Groundwater Assessment Final approval was
granted on June 1, 2000 via an email from the RWQCB
• On May 18, 2000, SECOR oversaw the down-hole video logging of domestic wells
DW-1 and DW-2 SECOR submitted the May 23, 2000, Domestic Well Video Survey
Report to the RWQCB The video log revealed the domestic well DW-2, that
contained reportable concentrations of MtBE, was approximately 59 feet deep and had
a hole in the casing at 32 and 40 feet bgs Well DW-1 was 70 feet deep and appeared
to be screened from 60 to 70 feet bgs
• On July 17-18, 2000, SECOR oversaw the advancement of GeoprobeTm borings GP-1
through GP-4 north, east, and south of the former UST location (Table 1 and 2)
File FRP report doc SECOR International Incorporated
