' Problem Assessment Report Page 9 <br /> Ranch Market,23569 South Santa Fe Road,Riverbank,CA November 8,2000 <br /> IDate Period of Time Mode of Operation <br /> 10/02/00 0900 - 1200 (3 hours) One Well SVE Test using V-2 <br />' 10/02/00 1215 - 1515 (3 hours) One Well SVE Test using V-1 <br /> 10/02/00 1530 - 1830 (3 hours) One Well SVE Test using V-5 <br /> 10/03/00 0800 — 1100 (3 hours) Six Well SVE Test <br />' 10/03/00 1100— 1600 (5 hours) AS Test and 6 Well SVE Test <br /> 10/03/00 1600— 1700 (1 hour) Six Well SVE Test <br /> 7.1.2 Feasibility Test Equipment <br /> The SVE/AS feasibility test was conducted using a propane-powered Stealth Industries <br /> thermal oxidizer capable of a maximum flow rate of 250 standard cubic feet per minute <br />' (scfm) for the extraction and treatment of soil vapor prior to discharge to the atmosphere A <br /> 2 5 horsepower(hp) air compressor with a maximum capacity of 20 scfm at 120 pounds per <br /> square inch (psi), powered by a diesel generator, was utilized for air sparging Equipment <br />' used for the feasibility test field monitoring included the following instruments <br />' • A pitot tube and differential pressure magnehelic gauge to measure SVE flow rates, <br /> • An air flow meter to measure injected sparge air flow rates, <br /> • Magnehelic pressure gauges to measure vacuum and/or pressure in both the test wells <br />' and observation points, <br /> • A dissolved oxygen (DO) meter to measure DO concentrations in groundwater, <br /> • A flame-ionization detector (FID) to measure vapor hydrocarbon concentrations, <br /> 10 • A lower explosive level (LEL)/oxygen meter to measure influent LELs and oxygen <br /> concentrations, <br /> • An interface probe to measure groundwater levels, and, <br />' • An air-sampling pump for vapor sample collection <br /> 7.1.3 Description of Test Wells and Monitoring Points <br /> tThe SVE/AS feasibility test utilized V-1 through V-6 for vapor extraction and AS-1 for air <br /> sparging MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 were used as monitoring points during the <br />' course of the test All of these wells are constructed with 2-inch diameter PVC casing and <br /> screen (Table 2) <br />' Prior to starting the test the static depth to water ranged from 27 43 feet below grade surface <br /> (bgs) in well V-3 to 29 05 feet bgs in well MW-4 (Table 5) The vapor extraction wells had <br /> approximately 15 feet of screen above the groundwater surface The monitoring wells had <br />' approximately 3 feet of screen above the groundwater The top of screen in the air sparge <br /> well (AS-1)was approximately 12 feet below the groundwater surface prior to air injection <br />' 7.1.4 Monitoring,Test&Field Procedures, and Sample Collection <br /> Monitoring was periodically conducted during the SVE/AS feasibility test to evaluate whether <br /> SVE is a viable remedial alternative at the Site, whether AS enhances removal of <br />' hydrocarbons in conjunction with SVE, and to estimate the radius of influence associated with <br /> SVE and AS operation Feasibility test field data tables are included in Tables 5-8 The <br /> SECOR International <br /> Foie PAR-report doe Incorporated <br /> I <br />
