' Problem Assessment Report Page 10
Ranch Market,23569 South Santa Fe Road,Riverbank,CA November 8 2000
1 following parameters were monitored and recorded during the feasibility tests at the noted
frequency
' • Applied vacuum and extraction flow rate at the extraction well head every 15
minutes,
' • Air sparging pressure and flow rate at the compressor discharge every 15
minutes,
• DO and depth to water(DTW) in wells prior to initiation of SVE tests, prior to
' initiation of the AS test, at the end of SVE/AS test, and at the end of the SVE
tests
' • Contaminant concentration readings in the extracted vapor stream using an
FID and a LEL102 meter,
+ Oxygen concentration readings in the extracted vapor stream using a LEU02
' meter, and,
Influent vapor samples from vapor extraction wells V-1, V-2, V-5, and V-6
Influent vapor samples were also collected during the combined six well SVE
ttest and during the six well S VE/AS test
A total of seven air samples were collected in Tedlar bags and submitted to Kiff Analytical, a
' California-certified laboratory for analysis of BTEX, TPHg, and MTBE by EPA Methods
8260B
' 7.2 Feasibility Test Results
7.2.1 Vapor Extraction Results for Tests#1, #2, and #3
' Prior to conducting the SVE test on October 2, 2000, the static depth to water and dissolved
oxygen concentration was monitored in wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4 and AS-1 (Table
5) Depth to water and dissolved oxygen readings were also collected prior to termination of
' the SVE tests using well V-2, V-1, and V-5
Three separate SVE tests were conducted using wells V-1, V-2, and V-5 Vapor was
' extracted from each well for approximately 3 hours at flow rates ranging from 94 5 to 129 1
scfm in V-1, 18 6 to 38 1 scfm in V-2, and 95 5 to 1313 scfm in V-5 (Table 6) Applied
' vacuum rates ranged from 50 to 100 inches of water(in H2O) The applied vacuum reached
100 in H2O in V-2, but was reduced to 75 in H2O in V-1 and V-5 due to upwelling of
groundwater within the vapor extraction wells The FID readings collected from the vapor
' extracted from wells V-1, V-2, and V-5 was 10,000 parts per million (ppm) through out the
test (Table 6) During the three SVE tests no significant increase in dissolved oxygen was
observed and groundwater rose Iess than 1 inch in the offsetting groundwater monitoring
' wells (Table 5)
During Test#1 induced vacuum readings greater than 0 2 in H2O were reported in wells V-3
' and V-4 located 15 feet and 10 feet away from extraction well V-2 Wells V-1, V-5, and V-6,
located 23 to 42 feet away from the extraction well, had induced vacuums less than 0 13 in
• H2O
File PAR-rcport doe SHCOR International Incorporated
r
