Per the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Division letter dated Apnl 26, 2040, the well must have a minimum seal of 200 feet SECOR
recommends the well be dulled to 250 bgs, an electric log be run, and well be completed in a
high permeability zone between 200 and 250 feet with 6-inch diameter steel casing Due to the
presence of nitrates in the shallow groundwater the well may need to be equipped with a water
softener to remove nitrates from the water After installation of the domestic well, a water
sample could be collected and analyzed for the presence of nitrates If the water sample contains
nitrates above the 45 ppm MCL, a water softener could be installed to effectively remove the
nitrates from the water
Septic Tank and Leach Field Survey-Per the SJCEHD request, SECOR attempted to
determine the location of the septic tank and leach field on the Pantoja Property Prior to
conducting the assessment of the site, SECOR used a private utility locator to clear all soil
boring locations and identify the location of underground utilities within the assessment area
SECOR also talked to the property owners in an attempt to determine the location of the septic
tanks and leach fields on the four properties listed below
The Pantoja Property, 23565 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-11,
The Ranch Market Property, 23569 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-12,
The Jose Cano Property, 23659 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-10,
The Troy Roe Property, 23665 S Santa Fe Road, APN 249-070-09
SECOR was unable to determine the location of the septic tank and leach field on the Pantoja
Property The estimated location of the septic tanks and leach fields for the other three
properties are shown on Figure 2. SECOR and SJCEHD will need to determine the best location
for the new domestic water well on the Pantoja Property
Cost Evaluation of Option 1 and Option 2
Referring to SECOR's project budgets included in Attachment 4 and 5,the cost to complete the
two scopes of work are summarized below
Option I.- Well Head Treatment Five Years $191,678.00
Well head treatment installation and O&M for 1 year $60,459.00
Four additional years of O&M $131,219-00
Option 2-Installation of a 250 Deep Domestic Well $52,072.00
i
Based the two costs estimates and that the well DW-2 contains MtBE, SECOR recommends that
the 250 deep water well be installed on the Panteja Property In addition, use of well DW-2 as a
File Ranch MarketTotWaterSource i Itr doc
