. Work Plan For Well Installation and Feasibility Testing 2
Ranch Market Site 23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank Callfocnia September 13 2000
The location of the proposed SVE wells and AS well is shown on Figure 3, Attachment 1 A
detailed description of the scope of work is summarized below
Scope of Work
2.0 SITE SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN, PERMITTING
SECOR will modify the existing site-specific Health and Safety Plan for well installation and
feasibility testing activities proposed at the site as required by the Occupational Health and
Safety Administration (OSHA) Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency
Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910 120) The document will be reviewed and signed by all
SECOR personnel and subcontractors performing work at the site
Permits for well installation will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Division (SJCEHD) The letter of notification will be submitted to the San Joaquin Air
iPollution Control district one week prior to conducting the feasibility All permitting will be
completed prior to performing field work
Prior to conducting subsurface work at the site, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be
contacted to delineate subsurface piping near the site with surface markings
3.0 SOIL BORINGS, SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
SECOR will supervise the drilling of seven soil bonngs at the locations shown on Figure 3
using a truck-mounted drilling rig equipped with 8-inch-diameter hollow-stern augers One of
the soil borings will be drilled to a depth of approximately 45 feet below ground surface (bgs)
to accommodate installation of the air sparge well and six borings will be drilled to 30 feet bgs
to allow installation of the soil vapor extraction wells (Attachment 3, Table 1) Since a
significant number of soil samples have been collected during previous assessments, only
select soil samples will be collected from the soil borings using a split spoon sampler lined
with 2-inch diameter by 6-inch-long brass sample tubes (Attachment 3, Table 2) Downhole
drilling equipment will be steam cleaned before drilling each borehole, and sampling
equipment will be cleaned between each sampling interval Each soil sample will be screened
for hydrocarbon vapors using a portable photoionization detector (PID) Soils encountered
during drilling will be logged using the Unified Soil Classification System by a SECOR field
Re Re h MukeAReports1RbWc111nsW FeMNhtyl WKF wpd
