Work Plan For well Installation and Feasibility Testing 3 <br /> Ranch Market Site 23569 South Santa Fe Road Riverbank Callfomta September 13 2000 <br /> geologist, working under the supervision of a California registered geologist One sample tube <br /> from each sampling interval will be sealed with teflon pads and plastic caps, then labeled and <br /> placed on ice in an insulated container for delivery to Kiff Analytical, LLC located in Davis, <br /> California <br /> All soil generated through drilling will be placed on plastic sheeting on site pending <br /> characterization Water generated by steam cleaning will be contained in a steam-clean trailer <br /> and temporarily stored on site in DOT approved 55-gallon drums <br /> Based on field observations (PID readings, lithology, odors, etc ), selected soil samples from <br /> the soil borings will be analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX), total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline (TPHg), and methyl-tert butyl ether (MTBE), using U S <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) method 8260B (Table 2) <br /> 4.0 WELL INSTALLATION <br /> One air sparge well will be installed and constructed using 2-Inch diameter polyvinyl chloride <br /> (PVC) blank casing and 0 020-inch-slot well screen A five foot section of well screen will be <br /> installed from 40 to 45 feet bgs in the well Six soil vapor extraction wells will be installed <br /> and constructed using 2-inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) blank casing and 0 020-inch- <br /> slot well screen A seventeen foot section of well screen will be installed from 13 to 30 feet <br /> bgs in each SVE well A sand filter pack will be placed within the annulus of the well from the <br /> bottom of the boring to approximately three feet above the top of the well screen The annulus <br /> of the well will be sealed with 2-3 feet of bentonite on top of the sand, and a portland <br /> cement/bentonite slurry to the surface An 8-inch-diameter, traffic-rated, watertight street box <br /> will be installed to protect the well from surface traffic Refer to Table 1 for details <br /> concerning the proposed well completions <br /> 5.0 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION/AIR SPARGING FEASIBILITY TEST <br /> SECOR will conduct a two day SVE/AS feasibility test the Site A 12-hour soil vapor <br /> extraction feasibility test will be conducted on the first day and a 8-hour soil vapor <br /> extraction/air sparge feasibility test will be conducted on the second day A 250 scfm thermal <br /> oxidizer will be used to extract and treat the soil vapor prior to discharge to the atmosphere <br /> The thermal oxidizer will be operated using an electrical generator and propane as <br /> Fdc Ranch MnrkcAReports%RfrWct11mud F wibdityl WKPwpd <br />
