MONITORING AND REPORTIN*OGRAM ORDER NO. -3 - <br /> OWENS-BROCKWAY AND OWENS-ILLINOIS <br /> GLASS FURNACE FACILITY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Standard Minerals shall include, at a minimum, the following elements/compounds: Barium, <br /> Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Nitrate, Sulfate, Total Alkalinity_ (including <br /> alkalinity series), and Hardness. <br /> 2 Volatile Organic Analysis to be performed by EPA Method 8010 or other analytical method <br /> approved by Board staff. <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> Groundwater samples shall be collected from each groundwater monitoring well in accordance with the <br /> approved Groundwater Monitoring Workplan. The groundwater monitoring program for all existing <br /> and wells installed subsequent to issuance of this MRP, shall include the list below. Sample collection <br /> and analysis shall follow standard EPA protocol. Each groundwater monitoring well shall be <br /> monitored at least for the following: <br /> Constituents Units Type of Sample Sampling Frequency Reporting Frequency <br /> Groundwater Elevation 0.01 feet Measurement Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Volatile Organic Compounds µg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> TPH-Diesel/BTEX/MTBE3'4 mg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Nitrates as Nitrogen mg/l Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Total Dissolved Solids mg/l Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Standard Minerals' mg/1 Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> Specific Conductivity µmhos/cm Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> pH pH units Grab Quarterly Quarterly <br /> 1 Standard Minerals shall include the following compounds: Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, <br /> Chloride,Nitrate, Sulfate, Total Alkalinity(including alkalinity series), and Hardness. <br /> 2 Volatile Organic Analysis to be performed by EPA Method 8010 or other analytical method <br /> approved by Board staff. <br /> 3 TPH-D to be performed by EPA Method 8015-m, BTEX and MTBE to be performed by EPA <br /> Method 8020, if MTBE is reported in sample, cofifirm analysis with EPA Method 8010 listed <br /> above. <br /> 4 Perform four quarters of indicated analyses, if analytes not detected, discontinue analysis with <br /> Board staff approval. <br /> REPORTING <br /> In reporting monitoring data, the Discharger shall arrange the data in tabular form so that the date, <br /> sample type (e.g., effluent,pond, groundwater well, etc.), and reported analytical result for each sample <br /> are readily discernible. The data shall be summarized in such a manner to clearly illustrate compliance <br /> with waste discharge requirements and spatial or temporal trends, as applicable. The results of any <br /> monitoring done more frequently than required at the locations specified in the Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program shall be reported in the next scheduled monitoring report. <br /> As required by the California Business and Professions Code Sections 6735, 7835, and 7835.1, all <br /> groundwater monitoring reports shall be prepared under the direct supervision of a registered <br /> professional engineer or geologist and signed by the registered professional. <br />
