PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration.
Evaluation of the most recent groundwater monitoring results available, August 2, 1991, indicate that total
petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) gasoline and diesel, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, EDB, and total
lead have been detected. Please add analysis for TPH-diesel, EDB, and total lead to the constituents listed
in the proposal. Analysis for these additional constituents should continue for a minimum of two quarters.
Since there exists the possibility that tidal influences may affect local site gradient, PHS/EHD recommends
that groundwater depth measurements be collected both prior to sampling wells and after the wells have
been sampled. The depth to water measurements should be collected within a one hour time period prior
to sampling and again after sampling of the monitoring wells.
Please contact Mary Meays, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337 if you have any questions or to schedule
the next quarterly sampling event.
Jogi Khanna, Ivt7D., M.P.H.
Health Off c'
i
urie A.
