Page 2
145 South Sutter Street
If contamination is observable in soil and groundwater samples collected at depth, the
proposed borings should both be extended until there are no obvious signs of contamination.
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals during the drilling of both boreholes;
Weston proposes that soil samples from ten-foot intervals will be submitted for analysis. The
EHD recommends that soil samples are selected for analyses based on observed
contamination or elevated PID readings, not on arbitrary pre-selected depths.
The EHD approves the work plan with conditions as outlined above. Please proceed with
submittal of a well destruction permit application, required $60.00 permit fee and $294.00
permit inspection fee; a well installation permit application, required $89.00 permit fee and
$294.00 permit inspection fee, and with scheduling the approved work.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
