Sutter Street
Stockton CA 95202
San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department(SJC/EHD) has reviewed Draft
Corrective Action Plan Review dated June 22, 2006, prepared on your behalf by Weston
Solutions, Inc. (Weston)and has the following comments.
In their review,Weston recommends collection of additional site data to fill in some gaps, and
consideration of the site for low risk closure. Specific tasks outlined by Weston to be completed
include:
1. Resurveying all current groundwater monitoring wells to an established benchmark for
confirmation of the groundwater flow direction at the site.
2. Redevelopment of monitoring well MW-2.
3. Installation of one deeply screened groundwater monitoring well near MW-2 for vertical
definition of the soil and groundwater contamination.
4. Installation of one additional shallow groundwater monitoring well downgradient of MW-2,
should the resurveying of the monitoring wells confirm groundwater flow is to the
southeast.
SJC/EHD approves the proposed scope of work with the following conditions:
1. The vertical extent of the soil contamination must be completed near well MW-2A. No
soil contamination was reported in the boring for well MW-2, but was reported in the
boring for MW-2A to 45 feet below surface grade (bsg)and in boring BH-13 to 65.5 feet
bsg.
2. Analysis for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel must be included in the analytical
suite for both soil and groundwater samples collected at this site.
Please proceed with scheduling a surveyor to confirm the wellhead elevations and with submittal
of a work plan to complete the investigation of the vertical and lateral extent of the contamination
at this site in both soil and groundwater.
