Air Emission Monitoring <br /> Monitoring of the ambient air for petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> compounds will be required to assess the concentration of <br /> airborne emissions in the excavation area and to document <br /> average concentrations at the perimeter of the work. zone. <br /> During earth moving operations, an HNu instrument will be <br /> utilized generally downwind of the immediate area of the <br /> excavation operations to monitor instantaneous hydrocarbon <br /> emissions. The purpose of the HNu monitoring will be to <br /> evaluate the adequacy of the Level B protection specified <br /> for the excavation personnel and to assess the source <br /> concentration of emissions generated by the excavation work. <br /> D.
